Blessed by the light of day
with mom and dad's tender loving care and protection
warm milk bottles,
a fresh pairs of socks, diapers, and shoes
Elements of a smiles and laughter in a place called home
to crawl, explore the kitchen, living room, and bathroom frontiers
like an bold, confident adventurer, a discoverer of
oneself
Shielded from
cold, harsh realities of this world
family, friends,
toys, and a puppy
buckle, button,
and tie my shoes, grammar school
riding
my bike learning to do everything for myself
Grandma's
cookies, auntie's empathy
everyone loves my
crazy uncle Mike
Growing up on the block, meeting
new kids
playing sports, video games, staying
up past bedtime
eating smores by an autumn campfire
Beaches, theme parks, music & art festivals
climbing trees, rollerblading, skinned-up knees at picnics
Go-karting, petting zoos, museums, movie theaters too
Sweet 16, driver's license, hangin' out at the mall, my
first love
endless summer nights
Proms, SAT's, graduating high school, saying goodbye
to my childhood
College life, trade school, working hard, partied even harder
Marrying my childhood sweetheart,
Had our first child
Blessed
by the light of day with mom and dad's
tender
loving care and protection...
